Tana Tapson was born in Florida and raised in Michigan. Her interest in Literature and Art History lead her to study Perception, Surrealism and Visual Art at The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington, where she began drawing. After completion of her degree in 2000, she returned to Michigan. She studied painting at the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center, and later at The Conservatory of Contemporary Realism, where she studied the Venetian painting technique.
She continues to develop her art through self-directed study and studio work. As an emerging professional artist she paints full time at her studio. She has exhibited paintings in several juried and curated exhibitions. She lives in Sarasota, Florida with her husband and dog.
